Marcel Gascoin secretary
This secretary desk was designed by French designer Marcel Gascoin (1907–1986) in the early 1950s. During this post-war period, new homes in France were built with limited space, increasing the demand for simple and functional designs. Gascoin recognized this need and created many timeless and highly functional pieces, including this desk.
The secretary desk features a drop-down flap with a blue-green leather writing surface and contains two storage drawers. The writing height is 69 cm. The piece is in good vintage condition, consistent with its age. There is minor veneer damage: less than 1 cm on the front panel and 2 cm on the side (see photos). The eyes on the back allow for wall mounting, and the metal and wooden legs can be easily removed. A spare key is included.
