Cream and red Theo Ruth for Artifort model 162 armchair

A set consisting of a men's and women's lounge chair by Artifort, designed by Theo Ruth.Theo Ruth was born in the Netherlands in 1915.He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht, where he quickly developed a passion for design.In 1936, he joined Artifort as a young designer, specializing in the creation of living room furniture.His talent was recognized when he was appointed Design Director in 1939, a position he held his passing in 1971. This sofa, like the lounge chairs listed on our site, was assigned model number 162, and the design dates back to 1958.A rare find: the men's lounge chair is upholstered in vintage pink, while the women's version comes in a cream color.
